The Italian magazine STILE INDUSTRIA was founded in 1954 and directed by Alberto Rosselli in the belief that architects and designers should deal with the form of everything that was beginning to be industrially produced at the time. It was then the only editorial initiative dedicated to industrial design and was an integral part of its formation: “non nacque come riflesso di una situazione di disegno raggiunta ma per dar vita a tale situazione”.

STILE INDUSTRIA N. 1, 1954

While Gio Ponti in Domus concentrated on interiors and objects produced in small series by artisans and Ernesto Nathan Rogers in Casabella wrote about Architecture, Rosselli decided to deal with industrial production at all scales giving equal space to the chair and the kitchen utensil, the bathroom and the car, measuring instruments and tires, prefabricated elements used in construction and packaging.
